Cougar Totem: Tiny Shell Carved Mountain Lion Zuni Fetish With Dragonfly

This listing is for the beautiful vintage carved shell Zuni fetish cougar totem shown in the photos above. This little guy is a tiny 1.5" long from tip to tail, and is about 1/4" in width. He has been hand-carved from a piece of shell, with black paint inlay details on his eyes and a black dragonfly painted on one side. His other side is a snowy white. He is very dainty and light, and has been carved so that he can stand on his own. I found this totem at an estate sale from an avid Zuni fetish collector, and this cougar's energy is just so special and powerful.

Zuni fetishes are beautiful carvings created by Zuni Pueblo artists as sacred objects and works of art. These carvings usually depict animals and connection with the elemental forces. They are meant to evoke the properties of the animal and their spirits, who are messengers for the Creator.

Cougars, or mountain lions, are considered to represent protection, independence, achievement, agility, strength, and leadership.

Dragonflies are considered to be sacred messengers associated with health, blessings, transformation, hope, new beginnings, and potential.
